Listen to the text with ReadSpeaker

The quality of life depends on the goodwill of all, to be able to live in society it is to respect others, it is necessary to accept inherent disadvantages in this life in society. The list of the sources of litigations between neighbours isn't exhaustive, interest is easily understood therefore to know some rules of right.

Technical services are at your disposal to inform you about the contents of the different texts and the orders in force relating to the respect for neighbourhood.

Noise

For the calmness of neighbourhood excessive noise is punished in the daytime as of night. This concerns very noise issued inside houses or dependency coming from animals, from television sets, from radios, bangers, vehicles, tools of fixing things or of gardening.. Any noise caused by flippancy or through lack of precaution is reprehensible. If you organise a party, it is recommended to tell his neighbours (for example: by putting a message at the bottom of the building).

The ravings of the animals

The ravings of the dogs, noise nuisances caused by untimely barkings, excretions are so many sources of the discontent of some of our fellow citizens. In urban zone the dogs can circulate on the public highway only held leaves it. Dog excrement on the public highway can cause slides and falls in consequences sometimes serious. Besides, the pollution of receptacles with sand or of quite other surface is likely to transmit a parasitical pathology (Ascaridiose), bacterial or viral. The owners of dogs have to pick up dog excrement.

Plantations

Between two deprived properties the Civil code imposes a 50-centimetre distance for plantations not exceeding 2 metres high and a 2-metre distance for the plantations the height of which is superior to 2 metres. The lopping of hedges is compulsory next to public domain or private. It is possible to force his neighbour to cut branches and brambles which show on its property, but it isn't possible to carry this operation out oneself.

The burning of waste

Any burning outside including for waste coming from sizes of hedges or of trees is strictly forbidden by bylaw. The green waste must be driven to the waste reception centre. No particular regulation for barbecues but attention not to incommode your neighbours by the smoke.

Boundary marking

The right of possession is absolute, any even trifling encroachment constitutes an attack in the right of possession. To use a boundary marking performed by a land surveyor-expert can avoid conflicts of neighbourhood. It is an operation which consists in defining the definite border between two private properties. There are two types of boundary marking: amicable boundary marking and judicial boundary marking.
